From Maggie Robertson's Big Blue Horse series.
Artist Maggie Robertson translates her Big Blue Horse paintings into printmaking with this new series of limited edition relief prints. The impact of the ultramarine blue and her refined approach to depict all that the horse imbues leaves one with a sense of energy and joy. Her practiced use of contrasting lines expresses the action and beauty of the horse most effectively.

About Relief Printing | A relief print is a print in which a plate or substrate is inked and then pressure, for example, a roll press in this case, is used to transfer the ink to the paper. Lines and marks that have been incised in the plate do not pick up the ink and therefore the white of the paper remains. “My blue horses are each printed one at a time. A small edition of 25 was done on cotton BFK Rives printmaking paper with the help of master printer Amanda Verbeck of Pele Prints in St. Louis.”
Edition of 25. Hand signed and numbered by the artist.
This work is unframed.
